We can be creatures of habit, we can easily get set in our ways and I fully support setting yourself up with a recipe for success  (routine or schedule) that works for you. ‘If it’s not broken then don’t fix it!’ 

However sometimes this can hold us back and we can fall victim to creating the same day as yesterday… 

When is this a problem? When we’re looking or waiting for something to change. 

Now if you’ve been trying to reach a goal or attract something significant into your life for a long time, you may well be thinking that something ‘big’ has to change.

But it doesn’t always have to be this way, sometimes the smallest of things can dramatically shift your situation.

~ YOUR SPECIAL INVITATION ~

New Path Exercise – I invite you to join me for a fun experiment (I love experiments that show us just how powerful our own thoughts, decisions and intentions are – more of these to come in my future videos). This excises consists of making simple changes in your routine to shake things up that create instant change.

CAN YOU RELATE TO THIS COMMON SCENARIO…

You get up at approximately the same time each day. you eat the same breakfast, you order the exact same coffee or morning drink at the same coffee shop, you drive along the same route to work, you have the same kind of day at work, you leave work at roughly the same time every day, you travel home on the exact same route, have the same types of conversations at home, watch the same TV shows or spend hours on social media before you go to bed at about the same time each night.

This can cause you to create the same day as yesterday… So if you’re not 100% happy with the days you are creating, or you’re looking for change, try this fun and easy exercise for 1 day to spice things up and take yourself on a new and different path. 

Get up at a different time, eat a different breakfast, order a different morning drink, travel on a new or different path to work, engage in conversations with new people and/or on different topics and travel on another route on your way home. Keep your eyes out for new and different things that surface on this new day path and share with me what showed up! You just might be surprised!

Throughout my career I’ve noticed that every time I ‘get on the move‘ good things happen. I can pretty much guarantee that as soon as I book a trip people come running to me for help. Even before I tell them I won’t be around in person for a while they just seem to know from universal forces and don’t want to miss out.

All sorts of other great things happen when I’m on the move too. For example:

1. EXERCISE: There is nothing better than getting on the move exercising to spice up your life by gaining abundance of energy to take action!
2. TAKING A BREAK: Just like athletic training, taking a break away from your usual work and life routine is extremely important. I always find my best ideas when I move away from my home or workplace to rest and do some deep thinking.
3. CONNECTION: When on the move, perhaps it’s just getting out of the house or office to see friends or clients, going on holiday, travelling to new places, attending parties, networking events etc. It’s here where you can develop some of your deepest relationships and it’s your chance to really connect fully with others in person.

So they are my top three tips on how to spice up your life by getting on the move.

Or perhaps you have been on the receiving end of a negative comment delivered in a really nasty way from a colleague or your boss? 

Or you’ve received negative feedback when you least expected it…

Watch my video and read my tips below on how to successfully deal with negative feedback at work.

Receiving negative feedback at work or in your personal life doesn’t have to kill your confidence. I challenge you to view it as a gift.

Yes – this feedback and be precious!

When working on your personal and professional development getting any type of feedback is valuable. It means you have something specific to work on to improve yourself. The last thing you want, is to not know about something that is letting you down that could be changed, worked on or avoided. 

Remember that we don’t have the same thoughts or perspective about ourselves at others do. Other people around us, nice or nasty can provide us with extremely beneficial information, advice or feedback that can help us improve and become the best version of ourselves. 

So next time you receive any type of negative feedback, even if it’s not delivered in the nicest of ways thank the person for their feedback.

Most people when receiving negative feedback are quick to defend themselves and therefore don’t take the time to listen or analyse the value in the feedback.

Even if you disagree 100% with the feedback understanding other peoples views and perceptions can be interesting and helpful.

FOR EXAMPLE: Perhaps you continue to fail getting an interview from your CV. You think your CV is outstanding and don’t want to change it by deleting any of your experience or expertise, but recruiters feedback is that it’s terribly long. Do you leave it as is and risk getting further unsuccessful applications, or do you try something different? Perhaps they are right and your potential employees like short and to the point CV applications.

Welcoming or even directly asking for feedback takes confidence. So always ensure your confidence levels are at their best, then receiving negative feedback is easy.
